After perusing the Daily Kos site I find it interesting that in recent gallup polls Obama loses or is tied in every age category with the exception of the younger voters. Now the Kos site suggests that the enthusiasm Obama has created in the younger voter may be enough to push him over the top however, I would have to disagree.
First of all the 18-29 age category that Obama wins is unreliable on election day. They tend to not get out and actually vote. Younger voters also tend towards short attention spans. Now this election cycle has been going on for almost two years. How much longer will these younger voters keep the enthusiasm up? If these voters do not show up at the polls does Obama stand a chance?
The answer really is that unless Obama makes tremendous strides in other age categories he will be the big loser in this campaign. The simply are not enough young voters to make up for the aged group that supports John McCain. This aged group are reliable voters. They will show up at the polls.
The folly that is the Obama campaign have established a losing coalition of voters. The coalition is made up of rich liberal elitists, young 18-29 years olds, and African Americans. This will only create a landslide victory for John McCain.
There are signs that the Republicans and John McCain will fair Ok. John McCain raised 21.5 Million in May. McCain currently has 10 Million more in the bank than does Obama. The RNC has far out raised the DNC. In the end the republican donors will come home. They may not be enthusiastic right now and may believe they will show the republicans a lesson and not show up. However, with an anti-American racist on the Democratic ticket it may just be enough to bring the conservatives on board. After all they do not really have a choice. In the lessor of two evils philosophy they will have to enable John McCain.
There is no spin available for the daily KOS. Obama only wins in one age category. This will not be enough and really makes Obama unelectable unless he can convert more of the forty somethings. The may just be the end of the road for the great appeaser.

as soon as hillary announces her endorsement or support for obama,mccains numbers will start soaring. hillary will be committing political suicide if she supports that piece of shit. i personally hope she does, so i can change parties. if she does, it means she is not a fighter, but a quitter and a hypocrite. tomorrow we shall see.

Wow, that post and the comments that follow are some of the most foolish things I have ever read.
There is a mood in this country that wants something new, and if you think that it is McCain or Hillary Clinton, then you are very mistaken.
There was a lot of passion behind Hillary supporters, but, in the end, they are democrats, and the issues that McCain supports are, by in large, contrary to what they believe in. If you think that the majority of traditionally democratic backing woman are going to support a candidate that wants to appoint more judges in the mold of Roberts and Scalia, then you are delusional.
Even today, polls are starting to show more support towards Obama, I believe a 5 point lead over McCain, and that is before Hillary officially endorses him.
Sorry to throw some cold reality on your fire, but the Republican party is in trouble. You can live in your own reality, but if you can't see the writing on the wall after losing a special election in Mississippi, of all places, then you definitely will have trouble predicting how this race will turn out.
I really hate to burst your bubble, but I'm going to have to. If you go back and look at the last, oh I don't know, 15 or so presidential elections, something will pop out at you.
In every presidential election year, when the unemployment rate was higher on July 1 than it was on April 1, the party out of power won. Did you see what happened in May? The unemployment rate went up by a full half-point. It will probably go up again in June, given the layoff announcements at GM and Ford. McCain's goose is cooked.
The reason you can look at the second quarter unemployment rate is because anything that happens after the second quarter is discounted by the public as mere electioneering. Also, it doesn't have time to sink in. But if things stink in Q2, the public will be reacting in Q4.
Oh, and there are gas prices. Gas is not only $4 a gallon, but it's been shooting up like a rocket in the second quarter. Between that and unemployment, it's pretty hard to imagine that a Democrat -- even a black one -- won't be elected this year.
Let me point out one more statistic. In the second quarter, 1 in 10 mortgagors (homeowners with a mortgage) were behind on their payments. For those of you who don't follow these numbers, please believe me when I tell you that this is an absolute earthquake in American financial history.
Until just lately, the solidest loan was a mortgage loan. Default rates are historically well below 1% on mortgages. Now, we've got not just "sub-prime" but "Alt-A" and even "prime" loans (I could speak volumes about how those classifications mean less than meets the eye) in big trouble. And home prices are 15-20% down from their peaks and still falling fast.
Add this up for a second: Falling home prices. Unprecedented and rising mortgage defaults. Unemployment starting to take off like a rocket. Gas prices shooting through the roof.
And you think Obama is unelectable? You are stark, raving nuts.
Oops, forgot one thing. Have you wandered into a grocery store lately? Notice anything? Or are you too lost in the ozone to comprehend what's happened to the prices?
Why do you think prices are up? We can't drill for the trillion barrells of oil in the US because it might kill a bird. Also, because of the idiocy of the environmentalists pushing that ethanol crap now the price of food is sky rocketing. The mortgage crisis happened because the stupid Dems were upset because the banks weren't lending to their un-credit worth constituancy. They pushed the banks into it (they went willing) and created this crisis.

Hillary Clinton is a leader and a party-builder. She has given her word that she will support the Democratic nominee, and if Obama indeed keeps all his delegates into August, she will and should support him. That doesn't mean she believes he's the best potential President; it means she's keeping her word and standing by her role as a loyal party leader. Unlike, for example, Ted Kennedy in 1980.
Many of us, however, never gave our word to do such. I will never support, endorse, or vote for Barack Obama or any of the liberal elite party hijacking that has led to his apparent nomination.
Still, there's a chance that supers could change their mind by August if some truly blatant and irrefutable evidence of Obama's unelectability surfaces. Until then it's a holding pattern, and we all have our opinions.

Where's the substance??? Please tell me when Obama ever said he would give tax cuts to the middle class. He has said he will let the Bush tax cuts expire. Sorry my friend but the Bush tax cuts were fair across the board. Everybody received the same tax cut. By letting these tax cuts expire everybody's taxes will increase not just the rich.
Please look into how Obama intends to pay for his socialized health care system. He will increase taxes. Oh he says the rich but never defines rich. Again sorry my friend but socialized health care is expensive and there is not enough "rich" people to entirely pay for it.
What about the .50c per gallon of gasoline tax? The gasoline tax is a regressive tax. The poorer one is the more they have the tendency to pay more in gasoline taxes.
What have the democrats done in the last year and a half to curb gasoline prices? They promised an energy policy that would reduce gasoline prices and yet since the DEMs have taken over gas prices have almost doubled.
What about the mortgage crisis? The bubble burst because people like Representative Laura Richardson (D) walked away from three mortgages. The bubble burst because people that should never have been able to receive mortgage loans were greedy. They paid too much and wanted more. There's very often a mood in this country that something new is wanted. But, the poll question asking do you think the country is on the right track or wrong track is notoriously unreliable at predicting elections. When push comes to shove, people make more rational decisions in the voting booth than decide we need something new so I'll vote for the other guy. JUst watch. There are a lot of people who say they're going to vote for Obama because it seems like the cool thing to do, but they won't do it. And, that will be the rational decision as Obama doesn't offer aything new except the same old watered down socialism the Dems have been supporting for decades.
In every election for the past 60 years except for 1956, when the unemployment rate rose in the second quarter of the election year, the incumbent party lost.
When the unemployment rate stayed the same, the election was close (including the stolen elections of 1960 and 2000). When unemployment fell in the second quarter, the incumbent party won.
This year, the unemployment rate started the second quarter at 5.1% and is now at 5.5%. There have been layoff announcements for June, and lots of stories about teenagers unable to get even a burger-flipping summer job. Between the rising unemployment and the rising gas and food prices, I'd say McBush's goose is pretty thoroughly cooked.
Obama's job is to avoid mistakes, and to lay out a series of liberal policy initiatives, so when he wins with 52%-57% of the vote (depending on how badly McCain screws things up and how many Republicans defect to minor parties), he and the Democrats can claim a mandate for big stuff.
Personally, I think it's time for some honest-to-goodness class warfare. Seeing as how the Democrats will get accused of it no matter what, why not serve up the real thing?

After doing some more research on Sheikh Barack Hussein Obama's formative years,
it's been discovered by others that he is not legally a U.S. Natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth,
which falls between "December 24, 1952 to November 13, 1986.
Presidential office requires a natural-born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. Citizen parents,
which of course is what exempts John McCain though he was born in the Panama Canal.
US Law very clearly stipulates: …If only one parent was a U.S. Citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16."
Barack Obama’s father was not a U.S. Citizen and Obama’s mother was only 18 when Obama was born, which means though she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (or citizen perhaps because of Hawaii being a territory) the mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years "prior to Sheikh Barack's birth, but *after* age 16.
It doesn’t matter "after".
In essence, she was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship.
At most, there were only 2 years elapsed since his mother turned 16 at the time of Barack Obama’s birth when she was 18 in Hawaii.
His mother would have needed to have been 16+5= 21 years old, at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen.
As aforementioned, she was a young college student at the time and was not. Barack Obama was already 3 years old at that time his mother would have needed to have waited to have him as the only U.S. Citizen parent.
Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office.

Though Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, all the other info does not matter because his mother is the one who needed to have been a U.S. Citzen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after age 16.
Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the country for some time to protect any citizenship he would have had, rather than living in Indonesia.
Now you can see why Obama’s aides stopped his speech about how we technically have more than 50 states, because it would have led to this discovery.
This is very clear cut and a blaring violation of U.S. Election law.
I think the Gov. Of California would be very interested in knowing this if Obama were elected President without being a natural-born U.S. Citizen, and it would set precedence.
